These collectible trading cards were designed not only to educate children and adults about polar bears and global warming but also to inspire them to take action. Each of us has an opportunity to make a difference. Every day we can make simple, convenient choices to slow down and, hopefully, one day reverse the affects of global warming.

Each of the five series includes 10 unique, numbered cards. The fronts of the cards feature different images from the Arctic. The images of arctic ice and landscapes show melting glaciers and icebergs which demonstrate how global warming is changing the Arctic environment. The images of polar bears and other wildlife demonstrate what is truly at risk if we don’t take steps now, as a global community, to reverse the deteriorating effects of greenhouses gases and pollution on the Arctic and ultimately, our entire planet.

The backs of the cards feature three sets of information:

  • A question and answer fact about polar bears, the Arctic, and other wildlife
  • A question and answer fact about global warming
  • A Crusader Mission which provides kids and families with simple tips to conserve energy and help reverse the affects of global warming

Read through these cards as a family and discuss them. People of all ages will learn something from these cards, and even adults will be challenged to change old energy usage and conservation habits, which is exactly what we all must do to combat global warming.

All polar cards are printed on recycled paper and have been printed with biodegradable soy-based ink and varnish. Each series is perforated and assembled in a special self-folding wrap.

We’d like to especially thank the scientists and professors at Donald Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara who reviewed all of the Polar Card facts for accuracy. To learn more about the Bren School, CLICK HERE
